Panmure 11, Errol 5.

THE SCORELINE flattered Panmure Curling Club who were fortunate to record a win against Errol in the Carse League on Monday.
The ice on the first end was exceedingly fast and Panmure skip John Macfarlane took full advantage of this, winning the first end by four shots.

Errol almost evened the score on the second end but their skip's stones pulled up short leaving them w
ith only a two.

Panmure third Lindsay Hood then swapped stones with second Graeme Currie as it appeared one of his stones was not running true. With the score increasing by single shots against the run of play in favour of Panmure, after four ends the score was six to two.

Errol then played some superb stones, taking a two, then a single, leaving the match poised at six shots to five in Panmure's favour with Panmure having last stone.

Panmure lead Sheilagh Macfarlane set the end up with widely spaced counting stones and Graeme Currie and Lindsay Hood played their parts with various guards and covers.

The Errol skip played his last stone which promoted a Panmure guard into the head leaving skip John Macfarlane with an awkward, heavily weighted tap-back out on the wing which he played to perfection to remove an Errol counter for a five.

"The first time he had the weight and ice correct all evening," was the wry summing up of the Panmure rink!
